My Blog
Hi! Welcome to my second attempt at creating web site and web page!  I am very excited about having a web page.  It is something that I only dreamed of doing until now.

Currently, I am in the education graduate program at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York.  Originally, I had created this site as part of an assignment for a graduate course entitled, “Teaching With Technology.”  However, I am already feeling empowered by the endless possibilities of having a website of my own.

I love doing mathematical problems.  Many mathematical problems are like a puzzle, where you have to find various pieces of the puzzle in order to put the entire puzzle together (or in math, solve the puzzle/problem).  Often math involves finding a pattern, making a connection.  Math does not always come easy.  However, there is nothing like the feeling when you have struggled with something (a math problem) and then you conquer (solve) it.  Science goes hand-in-hand with math.  I am fascinated by the way we can calculate and predict scientific events using mathematics.

As educators, we understand that we are preparing students for their future careers.  Some of the careers that today's students will encounter have not yet been created.  It is obvious that technology will pay a tremendous role in our children's future.  We can sometimes only imagine what career paths lay ahead for our children.  What ever the career may be, we know that technology will have a role in it.

The amount of students being classified has been on the rise.  Therefore, special education issues and websites are important for me.  So, I will be constantly on the look out for a site that is helpful in some way to parents, educators, and students.
Please check out my technology group’s teacher tool kit below.

With Technology, We Can Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before . . .

The Star Trek series began before I was born.  However, I have been watching Star Trek all my life.  Technology has changed drastically within my life-time.  When I was very (very) young, I can remember telephones that were rotary and there was a wire connecting the hand piece to the base unit.  I remember when the push-button phones came out, then cordless, then phones with caller ID.

The point to me telling you all this is because as I was a VERY young child watching Star Trek and seeing Captain Kirk with his flip-communicator, I never thought that I would see the day in my life-time when I would actually have a flip-phone in which I can talk on the phone as I am shopping or walking down the street..  Remember, when I was VERY young, we did not have cordless phones.  Our technological advances have taken off at an exponential rate.  I can't wait to see what the future will hold for us all.

Below, please find some videos that display Star Treks relationship with real-life technology and science - It's Exciting!
